3.2 SIA Blockchain

SIA Blockchain is a new generation underlying blockchain system that integrates various Agent and AI capabilities. It integrates AI Agent programs with smart contracts (Agent code and configuration data are implemented through smart contracts), enabling Agent invocation and settlement to run on distributed blockchain nodes, ensuring the privacy and security of input and output data for Agent calls.

In terms of architecture design, SIA defines multiple blockchain subnets, each an independent blockchain network that can run multiple smart contracts and multiple AI Agent programs. Through the expansion of blockchain nodes, smart contracts, and blockchain subnets, a highly fault-tolerant and infinitely scalable powerful computing network—SIA Blockchain—can be built.

Sia Blockchain

Smart contracts running AI Agents communicate through the SIA Protocol, regardless of whether these smart contracts are within one blockchain subnet or across multiple blockchain subnets. The SIA Protocol communicates between different smart contracts based on a high-throughput, low-latency consensus mechanism.

Blockchain subnets built on the SIA Protocol operate independently of each other and utilize an asynchronous message exchange mechanism to achieve high concurrency, thereby enabling infinite scalability and high fault tolerance for the entire network.

SIA Blockchain’s development continues the features of the previous generation of Blockchain while carrying more functions for Agent underlying infrastructure, including certain distributed scheduling capabilities and network computing capabilities. With the supplementation and development of these capabilities, SIA Blockchain will evolve into the next generation of cloud infrastructure, especially the integration of “GPU + CPU” clouds. At the current stage, GPU Cloud is developing rapidly, and one branch of GPU Cloud development is distributed computing power, which includes the development of consumer-grade computing power scheduling cloud platforms. This part of SIA Blockchain’s capabilities has a natural synergy with GPU cloud vendors, and their combination can integrate consumer-grade computing power into the next-generation GPU Cloud system. SIA Blockchain will build a unique technical ecosystem in the development of GPU Cloud.

The SIA network adopts a Stake-based Governance mechanism and simultaneously issues the platform governance token SIA Token (detailed in the tokenomics document). SIA token holders collectively responsible for platform governance, including tokenomics, SIA network rules, node topology, and software running on node machines. All SIA token holders collectively form the entire SIA Blockchain DAO (Decentralized Autonomous Organization).

For developers running AI Agents on the SIA network and all its users, a DApp-level DAO is formed. At the same time, based on similar mechanisms, governance tokens for AI Agent DAOs can be issued, which we call AgentFi. These tokens are used for the governance of individual AI Agents, including but not limited to, the governance rules, expansion rules, and tokenomics of that AI Agent.
